Xabi Alonso insists he and his Liverpool team-mates can hold their nerve and maintain the focus needed to secure the club’s first domestic league title in 19 years.

Spanish pass master Alonso admits that the pressure is on his side – who currently sit clear of United by two points at the top, having played a game more than their adversaries – but is confident his colleagues and he can block out the hype created by outside influences.
