Albert Riera and Fernando Torres scored Liverpool's first goals of 2009 as Liverpool beat Preston 2-0 away in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Riera's well taken first half effort was his 4th goal of the season and his 3rd in the space of a month. Torres marked his return from injury with his 40th goal for Liverpool, the sixth for him in the current campaign. It was his first ever goal in the FA Cup.
