Keane and Torres can terrorise


Liverpool legend Ian Rush says the club will end their 19-year wait for a top flight title providing that strikers Fernando Torres and Robbie Keane can ‘click’ during the second half of the season.

Despite Torres and Keane starting alongside each other in just six out of Liverpool’s 21 league games this far, the Reds are still four points clear at the top of the table with everything to play for in the second half of the campaign.

Rush, who alongside Kenny Dalglish formed the most feared strike partnership in English football during the 1980’s said: “If those two click then Liverpool win go on to win the league.

“It’s incredible when you think Liverpool have been top for most of the season without Torres and Keane playing together much. But their partnership can give Liverpool that bit extra during the run-in.

“It’s a tribute to Liverpool that they have done so well without Torres. People keep saying the team are nothing without Steven Gerrard or Torres, but they managed to beat United and Chelsea without Torres. Read more...
