Daniel Agger is ready to turn his back on a move to AC Milan, according to Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.
The 24-year-old Danish defender, a £5.8million signing from Brondby three years ago, has been unsettled at Anfield after losing his first-team place and has so far refused to agree a new contract.
Italian giants Milan are keen to sign him - but Benitez revealed Agger now looks set to stay put.
"Daniel wants to stay," he said. "He's committed to Liverpool 100 per cent and sees his future here."
But Anfield winger Jermaine Pennant is on his way to Portsmouth after the clubs agreed a £5million deal for the former Arsenal player.
