Liverpool v Aston Villa preview

Gerrard, who had charges of assault dropped on Friday, loves the sight of Villa. No side in The Premier League has suffered more than The Villans at the hands of Gerrard – who has bagged six against the Midlands club.
Villa have some demons to conquer too. No wins in their last seven, Emile Heskey has scored once in seven matches, Gabriel Agbonlahor only once in 15.
Martin O’Neill also has a major issue with the month of March, failing to record a single victory from eight league matches during his time as Villa boss.
Will Rafa Benitez tinker with the side that beat United? Probably. If Alvaro Arbeloa is fit he will likely return at the expense of Sami Hyypia.
Aston Villa’s team is much more predictable with the only major question being whether John Carew gets a start after his goalscoring cameo in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.
Should Villa fail to score Pepe Reina breaks the Liverpool record for keeping 100 clean sheets in the fewest number of games, which is quite the contrast to a Villa side who have not recorded a shut-out in their last seven.
Sunday's referee Martin Atkinson was the official when Liverpool were last defeated at Anfield (by Barnsley of all people), but The Reds’ greater priority will be avoiding another home draw. The odds for a win over Villa are good…O’Neill’s men have not drawn an away game all season.
