Guus Hiddink is Confused

Poor old Guus Hiddink. The strain of managing a team trying to win the Champions League and another trying to win the World Cup is clearly getting to him. Ahead of Russia’s clash with fellow Eastern European titans Azerbaijan, the manager said of Andrei Arshavin:

“Andrei is strong physically and psychologically. He likes it in England. And he’s already become one of Chelsea’s leaders.”

To his credit, the Dutchman, who seems to speak better English than John Terry, quickly corrected his error:

“What a slip of the tongue. Of course he’s a leader in Arsenal-but he would be doing the same at Chelsea!”
