Nigel Reo-Coker believes Villa can rip the form book apart and record a club record-equalling 11th away win in the top flight at Liverpool.
Villa have already won 10 times on their travels this season – as many as last season’s champions Manchester United and Ron Saunders’ title winners of 28 years ago.
Only once in the top flight have Villa won more. That was the 11 away wins set in the 1896-97 double season.
Villa will have four more chances to level or beat the record with further games at Old Trafford, Bolton, Fulham and Middlesbrough.
“It’s a tremendous challenge that lies ahead of us, but I really don’t see any reason why we can’t go to Anfield and pick up a result,” said Reo-Coker.
“This is the most open Premier League in years.
“We gave them a fantastic game up there last year. We were a minute away from winning at Anfield after a terrific team effort as reported by Birmingham Mail.
