Chelsea are reportedly leading the chase for Czech starlet Vaclav Kadlec, according to the Daily Star. The 16-year-old striker has been dubbed the ‘next Rosicky’, after the Arsenal midfielder, and has been watched by a host of top European clubs in recent months while playing for Sparta Prague. Kadlec, who is already a member of the Czech under-19 side, had a trial with Liverpool at Anfield as a child before stating his desire to return home to be with his family.
Although Rafael Benitez and his academy advisors are still keen to make the signing of Kadlec, it now appears the youngster is leaning towards playing his club football in London. With the Blues keen on extending their youth policy, it is expected that advisors will attempt to thrash out a deal at the end of the season.
