Liverpool are understood to have a preferential option to sign Espanyol wonder kid Oscar Sielva.
The 17-year-old is hot property in Spain and Reds boss Rafa Benitez is thought to have made enquires when landing Albert Riera in the summer.
Sielva, who played against Manchester United in a pre-season friendly, is an attacking midfielder and is valued at around £2million.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old Esbjerg GF goalkeeper Mark Thomsen is set to undergo a trial at Anfield in a bid to impress the club's youth coaches.
Liverpool do not sign foreign players under the age of 16, but Thomsen has already impressed one of the Premier League outfit's talent scouts, Jimmy Hansen.
