Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic was left without any words to defend his players following last night’s cataclysmic 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League last-16.
After constantly defending the team through thick and thin the entire campaign, Mijatovic was full of criticism of his players for their woeful showing at Anfield.
“It is a very sad and very painful result. Once again, we have failed to advance to the quarter-finals,” he told reporters after the game.
“From the first to the 90th minute, we were never in the match. We were nowhere to be seen. And we should be very worried because we have left a very bad image of ourselves.
