Gerrard won’t give up title

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says the Reds will not give up their persuit of the Premier League title this season until it isn’t possible to win it anymore.

Rafa Benitez's men go to Old Trafford today for Premier League crunch game against Manchester United, hoping to narrow the gap between them and Alex Ferguson’s men to four points.

And although many have already ruled Liverpool out of the title race, Gerrard is not giving up just yet.

Ahead of today’s game the midfielder told the club’s official web site, “While it’s still possible myself and the players will continue to fight, there’s no two ways about it. We won’t give up until we can’t do it.

“There’s still enough time for us because there are quite a few games left to play. Manchester United have still got some tricky games, including against us.

“If we were to win every game and United don’t slip up, then obviously there’s nothing else we can do. We just have to make sure we stay on their tails and try to make the gap smaller. If they do make any mistakes, that’s when we have to try to pounce.”
