Julien Faubert is the player that Real Madrid needed, according to midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
Real Madrid's loan capture of Faubert caused a few raised eyebrows, but the Holland international feels the winger will prove to be an excellent recruit.
Faubert is on loan to Madrid until the remainder of the season, and his new Dutch team-mate thinks that their partnership can be an asset for the Spanish champions.
“I think he’s a player that we need. He is very quick, strong and he can play on both wings," Van der Vaart told Marca.
“For sure our relationship on the pitch will be good!”
The Holland international has also spoken about the upcoming Champions League clash against Liverpool, and he thinks that The Reds remain a top team despite Robbie Keane’s return to Tottenham.
He added: “I understand that Robbie Keane has gone to Tottenham, but Liverpool are still a very good team.
