The last 14 minutes at Fratton Park

Rafael Benitez hailed his side's character after Liverpool twice came from behind to beat Portsmouth. Benitez's team are now top of the Premier League after substitutes Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt combined to give Liverpool a vital win. Benitez raised eyebrows with his team selection prior to kick off, choosing to leave Torres, Kuyt and Xabi Alonso on the bench and play rookie David N'gog as lone striker.

But his decision paid off - after Fabio Aurelio cancelled out David Nugent's opener, Kuyt and Torres struck after Herman Hreidarsson had put Pompey ahead again.

And Benitez knew how important it was to win at Fratton Park. He said: "I feel every win is important, I am really pleased because we showed character. You could see different players on the pitch and they worked very hard for the team and the fans.
