Top Five's Top Goal: Kaka And Torres Tie!


The readers have spoken, and Kaka and Fernando Torres share our award for the best goal from the FIFA World Player of the Year nominees for 2008...

After a qualifying round in which all five FIFA World Player of the Year nominees had their five best goals of 2008 voted on, we began our final voting round on Wednesday to see which of the five final goals was the greatest of all. (See here for the videos.)

And following two days of voting, here are the results:

1. Kaka: Milan vs. Lazio, 12 Sep 2008 - 28.00%
2. Fernando Torres: Liverpool vs. Arsenal, 8 April 2008 - 28.00%
3. Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United vs. Portsmouth, 30 Jan 2008 - 22.00%
4. Lionel Messi: Barcelona vs. Real Madrid, 16 Dec 2008 - 18.00%
5. Xavi: Málaga v Barcelona, 1 Nov 2008 - 4.00%

So, AC Milan ace Kaka shares the award with Liverpool's Fernando Torres!
