Fresh from a turbulent first few days of the new year, Liverpool fans could be forgiven for forgetting that this was only the Reds' first league match of 2009, and their last Premiership performance seemed like even longer ago than it was when compared to this. Thrashing Newcastle 5-1 is all well and good, but what Liverpool fan wouldn't have traded just one of those goals at St James' Park for a breakthrough here.
